Here's why it's a mixed review
Really good staff. The owner and team were genuinely friendly with a cute atmosphere.
Though the location is central, the rooms were quite basic and lacked amenities like tea or coffee making.

Very good place for the money. I liked the value. It was a very well-designed place and attractive. It was also centrally located. The room is small but the bathroom is exceptional for a small room and the bed was comfortable. The modern facilities makes this a bargain!

The property was in the middle of the city.

The parking payment procedure was confusing, leading to frustration when I sought a refund for the difference in charges. Room space was cramped, and the leaking shower created a minor hassle with water pooling on the floor.

We went to Pamplona for the Festival of San Fermin and could not have been in a better location. We loved the friendly staff at the hotel, the room was on the small side but very clean and we did not mind- why do you need a huge hotel room anyway? We were extremely pleased and would definitely recommend folks to book w/ Castillo de Javier.

I was almost impressed with my stay but then the shower went cold on the 3rd night, and the room was so cramped it was pitiful. I can't believe there was no welcome gift or room upgrade. Might've been a nice stay otherwise, but i just can't bring myself to recommend it.

It was clean. Daytime staff helpful (evening staff spoke very little English so it was difficult to communicate). The location was convenient and the price was attractive. Because we were more interested in price and in being in the center of the city, we were quite satisfied wtih the non-luxury category of the hotel. All the basics were provided and it was clean.
While convenient, the location was problematic in that the rooms' windows opened onto the very narrow street that was a major shopping / partying / gathering area. The noise of crowds of people lasted throughout most of the night, until about 4 A.M. I used earplugs to block out noise, but not even that worked completely. That really is the only complaint we had.

Convenient location right in the centre of Iruna /Pamplona and reasonable rates. Good access to city sights and also to surrounding countryside and Camino de Santiago.
